Electronic Announcement
The American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP) is pleased to invite members of local asthma coalitions to attend The Sixth Annual ACCP Community Asthma and COPD Coalitions Symposium, October 27-28, 2004, in Seattle, Washington, during CHEST 2004. This year the symposium is expanded to include COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) coalitions. The focus will be on developing, organizing, sustaining, strengthening, marketing, and securing funding for community Asthma and COPD coalitions. Presentations will involve talks on asthma and COPD in rural populations, in schools, and in the elderly. Networking discussion groups feature experts from an array of coalition models including those that serve rural populations and address COPD issues. David Evans, PhD, a pioneer in effective methods for teaching patients and health care professionals about asthma, will wrap up this year's symposium with a workshop on "Quality Improvement in the Pediatric Asthma Clinic."
